London Vet Show ’19 | Survival of the Fittest?

Wondering how to survive your first years in practice? Well, Eleanor Price (Friars Moor Vets) will be answering just that at this year’s London Vet Show. Eleanor will be joined by Chloe Roberts (MD, Linnaeus Group) and Lizzie Bewsey-Dyke, (MD, Grads to Vets) to share their top tips and tricks to navigate the choppy waters of being a newly qualified vet. Warts and all, the trio will divulge what went well, and what didn’t, during those all-important, formative years in practice.

As part of this year’s congress, the BVA will play host to this and lots more non-clinical sessions exploring career progression in the veterinary profession, as well as insightful discussion around sustainability, wellness, animal welfare and positive psychology.

Eleanor Price told Covetrus:

“I’m really looking forward to LVS and answering questions on survival as a new grad from a clinical perspective, to what kept me sane outside of work, how to make friends in a rural area, and importantly, the constant supply of snacks because low blood sugar definitely doesn’t help stress!”

And by all accounts she has had a fantastic team behind her, helping her achieve the dream of becoming a farm vet:

“I have had a great time working for Friars Moor who have been such a supportive team, encouraging independence and pushing myself. I always wanted to be a vet…But I particularly wanted to be a farm vet because of the outdoor aspect and the relationships you build up with the farmers and my interest in the business side of things.”

With little over four weeks to go until the biggest date on the veterinary calendar lands, excitement is building here at Covetrus for London Vet Show 2019. Thousands of veterinary professionals from across the UK will descend upon the capital’s ExCel London, for two days of education, networking, exhibitions and much much more.

From small animal specialists to large animal vets, delegates will be treated to over 200 speakers, world class CPD and the largest collection of industry suppliers in Europe, all in association with the Royal Veterinary College and the British Veterinary Association.
